It’s A Barn Wedding, Y’All

We put on our boots for this one, as Vanessa & Duncan combined the best of country and Scottish culture for their big day. The beautiful Historic Santa Margarita Ranch hosted their barn wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. We arrived at noon to some moderate showers, which set the stage for an overcast day and evening. For those who don’t know, cloudy conditions are literally the BEST for photographers. We also love when our couples decide on something unique for their wedding day. Duncan stole the show in this aspect by wearing his traditional family kilt, complete with the dagger and sporran. For her part, Vanessa shone in her grace and lightness. We all know that wedding days get hectic, but Vanessa handled the chaos like an angel. That sounds cheesy, we know, but we truly don’t have better words to describe her. It made us so happy to see them both stay so present and enjoy each others’ company all day and night. This was a wedding at it’s finest!

To Vanessa & Duncan:

We feel so grateful for you two and for our story together. From your finding us by our Crestline galleries, to meeting for the first time across the street from Sari’s birth hospital, things have just worked. We enjoyed hanging out with you guys at Bottle Room and getting to know you better. You generously invited us to your family cabin in Crestline for your engagement session. It’s clear that you both ground and lift each other, and you positively affect those around you. We truly can’t express our gratitude for your trust in us to photograph your barn wedding. We love love love your barn wedding and will reminisce with these pictures for years to come (in a totally non-creepy way, we promise). From navigating that crazy fog in Crestline to navigating the dance floor in Santa Margarita, you guys have been incredible. It’s been an honor to work with you both. Let’s grab a beer soon!
