When we first set a date for forest engagement photos with Vanessa and Duncan, California decided to dump 18 inches of rain in 24 hours. While this helped immensely with the drought, it wasn’t exactly ideal for our health. An hour or two in the cold rain didn’t sound like the best time for forest engagement photos. So we did the logical thing and rescheduled the shoot. One week later, Crestline greeted us with the heaviest fog we have seen in our lives. We immediately saw the beauty in the weather, and Vanessa and Duncan trusted our intuition. We couldn’t have been happier with the results! Although it was a bit chilly, spending time with these two up in Duncan’s grandparents’ cabin had us feeling warm as ever. Vanessa and Duncan are the kind of people who just make you feel at home. It totally shows in their photo shoot; keep scrolling for more awesome forest engagement photos!
To Vanessa & Duncan:
We are so grateful for your warm welcome into your beautiful Crestline cabin. You two have a special way of welcoming others that makes us feel like long time friends. Your VHS tapes, amazing wine, Christmas lights, New Zealand artisan crafts, and tricky “JAMAICA” family sign all helped to charm us. But the most important part is you yourselves. We had a ton of fun getting to know you better, and sneaking into the photo shoot seamlessly. Shooting forest engagement photos with you guys just felt like the icing on the cake. Your energy together is fun, playful, and sublimely confident. We love that about you. We can’t wait until November, when you guys will tie the knot at the Historic Santa Margarita Ranch! Until then, we look forward to more off-road adventures in the mountains and exploring with you.
